About the directory

What is the difference between a company profile and a review?
A profile explains what a company or protocol is: who runs it, how its products work, what it charges and where the risks are. A review is OBOL's assessment of one product, scored against a published rubric. Profiles carry no scores and make no recommendation.
How are the facts in the profiles checked?
Every figure is taken from a primary source where one exists — the company's documentation, terms, filings or regulator registers — and each profile lists its sources and the date its facts were last checked. Where sources disagree, the profile says so rather than picking one.
Which companies get a profile?
Companies and protocols behind the services OBOL covers: exchanges, wallets, staking providers, DeFi protocols, stablecoin issuers, NFT marketplaces and data tools. New profiles are added as they are researched and fact-checked.
Can a company pay to be listed or to change its profile?
No. No company can pay to be profiled, to be left out, or to change the wording of its profile. Corrections of fact are welcome and go to [email protected] with the profile link.
