Evernorth’s XRPN Hits Nasdaq as Bitcoin Holds Near $83,500 Before Key U.S. Inflation Data

Evernorth’s XRP treasury is set to debut on Nasdaq as XRPN, while Bitcoin consolidates near $83,500 ahead of Wednesday’s U.S. CPI report and a busy week of bank earnings and Fed commentary.

Evernorth Brings an XRP Treasury to Nasdaq

Evernorth Holdings completed its business combination with the special purpose acquisition company Armada Acquisition Corp. II on October 9. Its shares are scheduled to begin trading on the Nasdaq today under the ticker XRPN, with warrants listed as XRPNW. The debut slipped by a few days after the company cited an administrative issue, but Armada shareholders had already approved the deal on September 30.

At closing, Evernorth reports holding roughly 473 million XRP alongside about $300 million in gross cash proceeds. Investors in the transaction include Arrington Capital, SBI Group, Ripple, Pantera Capital, Kraken and GSR. The company also plans to ring the Nasdaq closing bell on October 14.

What XRPN Is, and What It Is Not

For U.S. investors, the listing offers a way to gain XRP-linked exposure through a regular brokerage account instead of a crypto exchange. It is not the same as owning the token, though. XRPN shares are a separate asset and can trade at a premium or a discount to the value of the treasury behind them.

That gap will be in focus on day one. A portion of the tokens was bought in late 2025 at an average of about $2.54 each, while XRP is changing hands near $1.40 on Monday. How the market prices a treasury that sits below part of its purchase cost will show how much appetite exists for this model.

Bitcoin Pauses Near $83,500

Bitcoin briefly pushed above $84,000 before slipping back toward $83,500, and short-term momentum looks softer. Traders are watching the $83,200 to $83,400 zone as the nearest support. The broader backdrop is constructive: U.S. equities rebounded last week as concerns about artificial intelligence eased, the S&P 500 gained more than 1%, and the Nasdaq posted a fourth straight weekly advance. Crypto, however, has not yet turned that strength into a clean breakout.

Inflation Data Is the Next Big Test

U.S. bond markets are closed for Columbus Day while equities trade as usual, which can make the first half of the week feel thin. On Tuesday, Federal Reserve Governor Christopher Waller is due to speak, and Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan Chase report earnings. Wednesday brings the September CPI report, the main data point before the Fed's October meeting.

The central bank raised rates in September, and markets largely expect no change at the next meeting. A hotter inflation print could revive tightening fears and weigh on risk assets such as Bitcoin, while a softer reading would give the market room to extend its recent gains.

The Takeaway for U.S. Investors

The two stories point in the same direction. Evernorth shows how crypto exposure keeps moving into traditional market wrappers, while Bitcoin's pause shows that macro data still sets the tone. Traders should expect volatility around Wednesday's CPI release and the first trading sessions of XRPN. This article is for information only and is not financial advice.
