How OBOL rates NFT and AI analytics tools
This category is full of products that present estimates as facts. A rarity rank, an AI price prediction and a wallet label are all outputs of a model somebody built, with assumptions you are usually not shown. Our rubric therefore weights data accuracy first and method transparency explicitly: a tool that explains how it reached a number is worth more than one that displays it with more decimal places.
Wash trading is the specific problem here. NFT volume has been systematically inflated by traders selling to themselves, and any platform that reports marketplace volume without filtering is publishing a number that is wrong in a known direction. We check whether filtering happens and whether it is documented.
On AI features
Several tools in this list market machine-learning valuations or predictive scores. We do not score predictive accuracy, because no vendor publishes a verifiable track record and we will not launder marketing claims into ratings. We score what the model is transparent about, what data it consumes, and whether the output is presented with appropriate uncertainty.
Free alternatives set the bar
Block explorers, marketplace APIs and public dashboards answer most questions in this category at no cost. A paid tool has to beat that baseline meaningfully, and several here do not.
