The Tezos art scene developed differently from Ethereum's: lower mint costs, a community oriented around collecting rather than flipping, and marketplaces that never abandoned royalties. objkt is its centre.
Royalties as standard
Creator royalties are honoured on secondary sales rather than treated as optional. For artists, that means the economic model NFTs originally promised still functions here, which is not true on any major Ethereum or Solana venue. It is the single strongest reason for an artist to mint on Tezos.
Costs
A roughly 2.5% marketplace fee plus Tezos transaction costs measured in fractions of a cent. Minting an edition costs almost nothing, which changes what is economically viable to create — small editions and experimental work that Ethereum gas costs would make pointless.
The limitation
Liquidity is thin and the market is small. Buying here should be treated as collecting art rather than acquiring a tradable asset, and resale may take a long time or not happen at all. That is true of most art markets and is worth stating explicitly.
Who should use it
Digital art collectors and artists who want royalties honoured and mint costs that permit experimentation. Traders will find nothing here.
