Zebec Network (ZBCN) is a real-time payments protocol built around the idea of continuous token streaming, paying salaries, vesting tokens, or making subscription payments by the second rather than in discrete lump-sum transactions, and has expanded from its Solana roots into a multi-chain infrastructure play.
What Zebec Network does
Zebec's core primitive is the payment stream: instead of a payroll system paying an employee once a month, or a token vesting contract unlocking tokens in quarterly cliffs, Zebec lets value flow continuously from sender to recipient, withdrawable at any point, which can improve capital efficiency and cash flow predictability for both sides. It has built out products around this, including Zebec Instant for card-linked spending of streamed funds, Zebec Payroll for business payroll management, and a treasury management suite aimed at DAOs and crypto-native companies that need programmable, transparent disbursement of funds. The team has also worked on ZebChain, an application-specific chain intended to give the network more control over throughput and fees for high-frequency streaming transactions, alongside integrations bringing streaming payments to a broader set of chains beyond Solana. ZBCN itself, following a rebrand and token migration from the earlier ZBC token, is used for network fees, staking and governance.
The pitch resonates most clearly with DAOs and crypto-native businesses that already manage recurring payments on-chain and are looking for more granular, transparent alternatives to manual monthly transfers.
Risks
Real-time payment streaming is a compelling idea, but adoption outside crypto-native organisations has been limited; convincing traditional businesses and payroll providers to switch to blockchain-based streaming requires clearing a much higher bar of trust, compliance and integration than most Web3-native tools face, and there's limited public evidence of significant non-crypto enterprise usage to date. The token migration from ZBC to ZBCN, while intended to unify Zebec's ecosystem, has also historically been a source of confusion and mixed sentiment among holders navigating the transition. As with most infrastructure tokens in a crowded payments and RWA-adjacent field, ZBCN's price has tended to move on speculative sentiment and broader altcoin cycles far more than on demonstrated growth in streaming transaction volume.
The underlying technology has genuine use cases, but Zebec still has more to prove on real-world adoption than on the engineering itself.
