What Trust Wallet Token is
Trust Wallet is a multi-chain, non-custodial wallet app originally built by Viktor Radchenko and acquired by Binance in 2018, now operating as an independent product used by tens of millions of people to hold, swap and stake assets across dozens of blockchains without handing custody to an exchange. TWT is its native token, originally issued on BNB Chain and now also available on Ethereum, functioning as a utility and loyalty asset rather than a claim on the company itself.
TWT's core mechanics were shaped early on by a large supply burn: in October 2020, Trust Wallet burned roughly 89 billion TWT out of a much larger initial supply, permanently fixing today's much smaller circulating figure and establishing the deflationary framing the token has carried since. Holding and locking TWT unlocks reduced fees within the app, access to token sales and airdrops via Trust Wallet's launch platform, and voting rights on product decisions through community governance.
Recent utility push
Trust Wallet has worked to give TWT more day-to-day relevance beyond fee discounts. Trust Premium, a loyalty tier launched in late 2025, rewards users who lock TWT with perks across the app, aiming to convert the token from a passive holding into something tied more directly to active usage. The wallet has also leaned into AI-assisted fraud detection and cross-chain tooling as differentiators against rival wallets like MetaMask and Phantom.
Risks
TWT's value is a function of Trust Wallet's continued relevance as a wallet product, not of any cash flow or equity claim — there's no dividend, no revenue share, and no guarantee that app usage translates into token demand. The wallet market is intensely competitive and increasingly commoditised, with rival wallets offering similar self-custody, swap and staking features, some without a native token at all. TWT's historical ties to Binance also mean its perception is loosely linked to Binance's own regulatory standing, even though Trust Wallet operates independently. As with most utility tokens bundled into consumer apps, the honest question is whether TWT's perks are compelling enough to sustain demand once the novelty of any given promotion wears off.
