What GoMining does
GoMining is a cloud mining platform that lets retail users buy NFTs representing a claim on hash rate from Bitcoin mining hardware the company operates, rather than buying and hosting ASICs themselves. Each mining NFT is tied to a specified amount of computing power, and holders receive a share of the Bitcoin mined by that allocated hardware, paid out net of the platform's operating and electricity costs.
The GOMINING token sits alongside the NFT mining product as a utility and rewards layer: it is used for staking, fee discounts, governance-style voting on platform decisions, and boosting the yield generated by a user's mining NFTs. The pitch is that it gives smaller investors exposure to Bitcoin mining economics, historically the preserve of large industrial operators with direct access to cheap power and hardware, without having to buy, ship, host or maintain physical rigs.
GoMining has also built out ancillary products around its core mining offering, including tools aimed at simplifying Bitcoin-denominated yield for users who would rather hold BTC exposure than actively trade.
Risks worth understanding
Mining economics are unforgiving: margins are squeezed by Bitcoin's price, network difficulty, which only trends upward over time, and electricity costs, so returns to NFT holders can compress sharply in a prolonged bear market or after a difficulty jump, regardless of what GoMining charges.
The model also asks users to trust GoMining's own reporting on how much real hash rate is deployed and how mining proceeds are calculated and distributed, since individual NFT holders cannot independently verify the physical hardware or its output the way they could with a public mining pool payout.
Cloud and NFT-based mining schemes have a mixed history in crypto, with some past operators turning out to be thinly disguised Ponzi structures; that is a reputational headwind GoMining has to keep working against through operational transparency, even where its own business appears to be functioning as described.
